1843 Queen Victoria Visit to Ghent Silvered Medal, 55 mm, PCGS SP63
£750.00

1843 Queen Victoria Visit to Ghent Medal – Silvered AE, Specimen Strike, PCGS SP63 (Top Pop), 130 Struck.

This impressive 1843 high-relief medal was produced by noted Antwerp medalist Laurent Joseph Hart (1810–1860) and represents a unique SPECIAL STRIKE, with only one example of this type recorded by PCGS.

Struck as a specimen in silvered AE, this large 55mm medal commemorates Queen Victoria’s state visit to Ghent on 16 September 1843. During this visit, Victoria traveled to Belgium to meet her uncle, Leopold I, the first King of the Belgians.

Specimen (SP) issues represent special mint strikings produced before modern proof technology, displaying many early proof-like characteristics. Due to limited minting equipment prior to 1817, these pieces lack the later “watery” surfaces of true proofs, making high-quality specimens especially desirable.

Obverse: Robed and crowned bust of Queen Victoria, legend “VICTORIA REINE D’ANGLETERRE.” Below truncation: “VERACHTER DIR. HART FECIT,” identifying the medallist.

Reverse: Crowned arms of the city of Ghent. Above: “LA REINE A GAND.” Below: “16 SEPTEMBRE 1843.”

Details: Weight: 77.4g Diameter: 55mm

A remarkable and historically significant medal, offered in exceptional specimen condition. A rare opportunity to acquire one of the finest known examples of this important issue.

1880-O Morgan Dollar, PCGS AU55, Rainbow Toned
£180.00

A highly attractive example of the 1880-O Morgan Dollar, certified AU55 by PCGS and struck at the New Orleans Mint.

While technically About Uncirculated, this piece offers exceptional visual appeal. The surfaces display striking bullseye rainbow toning that radiates across the fields, imparting notable character and individuality.

Design details remain sharp, with strong definition in Liberty’s hair and the eagle’s breast feathers. The vibrant, natural toning elevates this coin well beyond the appearance typically associated with the grade.

A distinctive and visually compelling example from the enduringly popular Morgan Dollar series designed by George T. Morgan.

1897 Queen Victoria Diamond Jubilee Aston Manor Medal
£45.00

A crisply struck, proof-like piece with outstanding surface quality and eye appeal.
